Project assurance activities integrate both risk management and quality management approaches, tools and techniques into a single framework and provide project sponsors and other key stakeholders with independent and objective information about a project at various stages. Assurance activities can encompass all processes within all phases of a project, including the project management processes (e.g., scope definition, schedule development) and the project product realization processes such as the design, construction and commissioning processes.
